House approves regular teaching allowance of up to 10K.

 

 

On its third and final reading, the House of Representatives passed a bill that would give public school teachers a regular payment of up to P10,000.

 

 

The proposed “Teaching Supplies Allowance Act,” House Bill (HB) No. 9682, was unanimously approved during Tuesday’s plenary session. It would require that each teacher receive P7,500 for the 2024–2025 school year and P10,000 for the 2025–2026 school year and beyond.

 

 

All public school teachers will get a financial allowance that is free from income tax. The annual budget of the Department of Education will be used to pay for the instructional materials. The proposed “Teaching Supplies Allowance Act,” House Bill (HB) No. 9682, was unanimously approved during Tuesday’s plenary session. The cash allowance will be exempted from income tax and given to all public school teachers. The teaching supplies will be funded by the Department of Education’s annual budget.
