The start of the following school year (SY) has been set for August 22 by the Department of Education.
The school year 2022–2023 will include 203 school days, according to an agency order from July 11 that was made public on Tuesday. The previous DepEd administration had suggested that classes begin on August 22 and end on July 7, 2023.
According to the directive, enrollment for the upcoming SY begins on July 25.
The most recent announcement rejects a recent request by a group of educators to start the following SY in late September or early October.
Earlier, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. declared that his administration intended to resume in-person classes by the end of November.
