When asked about teachers who are saying that they lack of rest, he stated that the Department really understand what they going through especially in the past 2 years and with the transition of educating the students during the pandemic, the Department of Education spokesperson Atty. Michael Poa said that the agency is eyeing to reduce or eliminate administrative tasks of “overworked” teachers.

Poa further said that DepEd is planning to hire more non-teaching staff to cover the administrative tasks that need to be done in the department.

“We will be hiring non-teaching staff to complement and to supplement the workload of the current teachers to enable the teachers to really just focus on teaching and learning,” he said.
