P5,000 cash allowance will be given to public school teachers within the first week of classes starting, according to a spokesman for the Department of Education on Friday.
After initially saying during the press briefing that it would be released on August 22, when face-to-face classes resumed, lawyer Michael Poa clarified in a Viber message.
Poa said, “This is to augment and give them additional assistance doon sa mga kakailanganin nila sa pagbabalik-eskwela (for resources they would be needing for their return to schools).”
