Despite filing a polite resignation on President Bongbong Marcos’s orders, the Secretary of Education is still working.
Many Filipinos were taken aback when Pres. Although Bongbong Marcos urged his Cabinet secretaries to quit as a courtesy, the heads of the various government ministries and agencies promptly complied with the president’s request. Marcos Jr. claims that he wishes to reorient his government.
Following the results of the 2025 election, the president made his decision. He asserts that the people have spoken and that the government needs to take into account what the Filipino people want. He urged his Cabinet secretaries to resign out of courtesy because he emphasized the need for the administration to take action.
Sonny Angara, the head of the Department of Education, thanked President and resigned as DepEd secretary right away. For the chance to head the education division, thank you, Bongbong Marcos. His brief employment at the department lasted approximately eight months.
Vice President Sonny Angara was followed by Education Secretary. Sara Duterte is in charge of education. Concerns over the usage of the department’s Confidential Funds surround her tenure. Prior to Angara taking office, five (5) senior DepEd officials resigned.
Despite submitting his courtesy resignation yesterday under the president’s directive. Marcos Bongbong, DepEd Sec. Currently serving as the head of the education department is Sonny Angara. “Tuloy tuloy lang po ang pagtatrabaho ng ating kalihim, full blast ang ating preparations para sa nalalapit na pagbubukas ng bagong school year natin in less than a month,” Dennis Legaspi, the media officer of the DepEd Secretary, said.
According to the study, DepEd Sec. Pres will be joined by Sonny Angara. Bongbong Marcos for the beginning of the yearly Palarong Pambansa, which will take place on Saturday in Laoag, Ilocos Norte. His media officer stated that all of DepEd’s programs will continue even though Malacañang has not yet taken action over Angara’s courtesy resignation.
As a result of Marcos’ polite resignation call, a lengthy list of Cabinet officials have already resigned.
