The Department of Education (DepEd) intends to hire and renew 7,062 school-based Administrative help Staff across public schools nationwide, with a Senior High School diploma as the minimum educational requirement, in order to help teachers and promote the administration goals of President Marcos Jr. The goal of this program is to relieve educators of non-teaching duties so they may concentrate on lesson planning and student involvement.

Sonny Angara, the education secretary, stressed that teachers should be in the classroom, not filling out paperwork. These new hires will assist school leaders directly by doing secretarial and administrative tasks. This action complies with DepEd Orders 002 and 005, series of 2024, which require instructors to reduce their administrative responsibilities and streamline their workload.

Additional Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses (MOOE) monies have been set aside by DepEd to pay these employees’ salary, which will be calculated as the regional minimum wage plus a 12.5% premium. Preparing reports and organizing school events are just two of the many tasks that the support staff will help with.

Candidates must have completed senior high school and possess fundamental administrative abilities, such as Microsoft Office competency. Prior work experience is not necessary. While new hiring will go through a selection procedure, current Contract of Service (CoS) employees may be eligible for a renewal if they achieve performance standards.

By alleviating teachers of administrative duties, Secretary Angara reaffirmed DepEd’s commitment to enhancing working conditions for educators and guaranteeing effective school operations.
