Rep. France Castro of the ACT Teachers Party list encouraged the Commission on Higher Education to issue a resolution on the holding of in-person graduation ceremonies on Wednesday.

“I don’t see why certain colleges don’t allow students to graduate in person. In a Viber message to The POST, Castro stated, “Nag-declare na nga ang IATF na sa Alert Level 1 puwede man ang 100 percent capacity sa mga venue.”

She was alluding to the InterAgency Task Force’s decision to change its policies to allow full capacity in public locations or venues.

All institutions and schools, according to the congressman, should hold face-to-face graduation ceremonies so that students and their parents can celebrate their accomplishments.

Additionally, Castro feels that holding face-to-face ceremonies is beneficial to kids who have been stranded at home for more than two years.

“At saka ma-feel ng mga bata, maging proud sa kanilang achievers,” says the author. She stated, “Enough na ‘yung 2 years na online studies.”
