Philippine President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has announced plans to provide significant incentives to skilled workers in the executive branch to help government employees facing economic hardship, and is currently under consideration.

This proposal continues the government’s ongoing efforts to provide economic relief to employees.

In an impromptu interview in Taguig City, President Marcos Jr. expressed concern for the Filipino people and acknowledged widespread economic hardship. “All Filipinos are suffering right now, so we will help in every way we can,” he stressed.
His proposed P20,000 incentive is aimed at providing additional support to eligible government employees in recognition of their achievements during difficult times. This announcement follows the government’s previous provision of service recognition incentives to eligible employees in December 2022. Initiatives like this highlight the government’s commitment to its workforce.

However, the President noted the importance of assessing the financial feasibility of this new stimulus package. This decision will depend on the fiscal position of the government at the end of the year, which will determine the feasibility of distributing these funds.
The Department of Budget and Management recently allocated P69.

4 billion for year-end bonuses and cash gifts for civil servants, reflecting the government’s continued efforts in providing financial support to civil servants.

Potential incentives for executive branch employees are evidence of the government’s commitment to supporting the workforce as the nation navigates economic challenges.

The final decision is expected to be made after a review at the end of the fiscal year, and is eagerly awaited by not only government officials but also the public.
