President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. has expressed his readiness to offer a service recognition reward (SRI) worth up to P20,000 to qualified government employees.

In an interview, Marcos said to reporters, “We’ll see if we can if it is actually viable, if it is financially feasible to give.” The President went on to say that the government would assist in every manner possible because everyone in the Philippines is currently suffering.

According to Marcos, the government won’t know how much can be awarded to state employees until the conclusion of the fiscal year. Then-President Rodrigo Duterte started the annual SRI grant program in 2019.

The City Budget Office will shortly receive suggestions from the Department of Budget Management (DBM) regarding how to give the Service Recognition Incentive (SRI) to qualifying regular employees and eligible contract workers.

According to Regina Cantillo, the City Budget Officer, every qualifying regular employee of the Puerto Princesa City administration, including co-terminus, will receive P20,000 on Monday. By November 30, employees must have worked for a minimum of four months.

Additionally, P5,000 in gratuity compensation will be made available by the office to qualified service worker contracts and project orders.

“At least a satisfactory performance rating—that is, funding from the LGU fund is updated.” Depending on the money that is available,” she stated.

It will be financed by savings from the offices’ personal services during the fiscal year 2023.

Depending on the LGU’s savings, P10,000 SRI was distributed to each regular employee in 2022.

According to Cantillo, P20,000 would be given to each of the 1,003 regular employees this year. There are typically about 3,000 job order employees working for the local government, although not all of them are qualified for gratuity compensation.

Because of retirees, the office saw more grantees this year than in 2022.

One of the things that we value most about SRIs is the money that we have in our bank accounts that we are not able to fully utilize. Savings from this initiative will be applied to the gratuity pay, she stated.
